Join Us for the Adlington District Civic Remembrance Commemorations

Residents are warmly invited to attend this year’s Adlington District Civic Remembrance Commemorations on Sunday 9 November 2025.

The event brings together our community to remember and honour all those who have given their lives in service to our country. The commemorations will begin with a procession from Adlington & District Community Centre, Railway Road (PR6 9RF), to St Paul’s Church, followed by a service and wreath-laying ceremony at the Adlington and District War Memorial.

Timetable of Events

  • Assemble from 1.50pm at the Adlington & District Community Centre car park (please note the car park will be closed to vehicles from this time).
  • 2.10pm – The procession, led by Rivington and Adlington Band, will depart from the Community Centre and walk to St Paul’s Church.
  • 2.30pm – A Service of Remembrance and the Roll of Honour at St Paul’s Church, led by Father Graeme Buttery.
  • 3.15pm – The procession will move to the Adlington and District War Memorial on Railway Road.
  • 3.20pm – Wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial. The Adlington Town Mayor will lay a wreath on behalf of the Town Council, alongside other local representatives and organisations.

After the ceremony, the band will lead the procession back to the Community Centre, where tea, coffee and mulled wine will be served.

Road Closures

Please note that Railway Road will be closed from above the Grove Farm Drive junction up to Rivington Avenue from 2pm until the conclusion of the commemorations to allow the procession and services to take place safely.

This annual civic event is organised on behalf of the local councils in the Adlington District, and all residents are encouraged to attend and pay their respects.

Together, we remember those who served and those who continue to serve.
