Welcome from the 2025-26 Mayor, Stuart Clewlow

It is a great honour to have been appointed the Town Mayor of Adlington for 2025/26.
I received the Mayoral Chain from Cllr Kim Snape on 12th May and I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for all her efforts during the last year on behalf of
Adlington.
When chairing Adlington Town Council meetings, I will be encouraging positive and friendly discussions. It is important that we have constructive meetings so that the
people of Adlington are well represented by the voluntary and hard-working Town Councillors. Your Councillors are really committed and do a great job and I would also like to thank them for everything they do for Adlington.
I was born and raised in Adlington; it is important to me that the village is seen as an integral part of the wider Chorley & District community. Therefore, I will be taking every opportunity to praise Adlington and its residents, when representing the village outside of its immediate boundary.

Many of you will know that I have always had a great interest in Adlington’s heritage and military history, and I feel it can be a great way to generate interest where we live. Although I am interested in the past, it is important to me that whilst we see Adlington grow, we do what we can to ensure Adlington has a great future. I look forward to working with Cllr Alison Rothwell, who is now the Deputy Mayor, and we will continue to do our very best when representing Adlington.

Throughout my Mayoral year, I have chosen to fundraise in support of the restoration of St Paul’s Church War Memorial Tower & Bells. In the next Adlington Town Council newsletter, I will share more information about why I have chosen this local charitable cause.
